Siena enjoys mispronunciating

Siena loves to mix up sounds or syllables for the sake of an alliteration or a rhyme. Or just for whatever reason. This morning, she was replacing several sounds, notably a soft C, with a SH sound. She was calling herself “Shena” and calling Thalia “Shalia.” Most humorously though was when we were reading Babar the King, in which newly established and freshly-returned-from-honeymoon King Babar oversees the creation of the elephantine city of Celesteville. Or, as Siena called it, the sh*tty of shelesteville.

“Siena, it’s city.” “No, it’s sh*tty.”

Well, that took some work to get corrected.

  1. Once Upon a Twice: “Undeniably arrayed in a gorgeous brocade, woven of fresh, inventive wordplay and masterful illustrations.”

This seemed so silly, sing songy to me, way over my head, but seems as though there were many mismatched words that Siena might now like. Although the pictures and story are a bit creepy, so maybe not.

  2. By the way, Siena,

MO loves the moon on the cover!
