Hello Siena and Thalia,
I loved spending time with the both of you and your parents this weekend: It was fun taking a walk with the two of you and your mom in the beautiful weather; fun going to the hairdresser where you were both stellar while you had your trims. Siena, your French braid looked beautiful; fun having snacks on the front steps with the two of you and your mom while your dad tended his fire; fun watching you spray the embers, Siena; fun having a picnic with the whole family on the floor of your new back porch; fun watching the two of you play on Siena's piano; fun snuggling and reading to you, Siena; fun feeding you prunes and pears and cereal and giving you your bottle, Thalia.
I am so lucky to have such a great family.
Love,
Nonna

Funny, isn't it -- Emma's room was all done before she arrived, and we are still missing items for Gillian's room, even though she's now five weeks old. There's definitely a difference between first and second children.

Liz, John, I was so sorry to hear about Nalia.
I was wondering how Penny was doing. Like Penny, Phoebe is 15 and enjoying her golden years at home, having outlasted S7. They're like a modern-day Jefferson and Adams.

Mo remembers helping paint Thalia's room. I learned about edging pads and how neat they can make trimng around doorways, windows and ceilings. I also remember creating extra work by not using the roller pad consistently so the overall effect appeared splotched. Oh dear, I don't think John was very pleased but he did a good job keeping it from me. But Yea! now it is all done and ready for Thalia to grow up in. Well done!

And btw - apparently I am to blame for the hand-in-the-mouth business during meals. Nonna tells us that I used to do the same thing, except using the two middle fingers.

I'm hoping that the pea antipathy will diminish as she gets older. She literally gags on them now - you'd think we were trying to poison her, the way she behaves. It would be hilarious if it weren't so frustrating. (A statement that covers a lot of both kids' problem behaviors right now)
