Siena and Thalia have been attending music classes on Saturday mornings for the past few weeks. It’s Siena’s real first organized activity outside of school like this, and she’s been loving it. We are going to the local franchise of Music Together (http://www.musictogether.com/), and although it seems targeted more towards the toddler age group (of which most of the other kids in the class are), Siena is nonetheless having a great time. The class provided two CDs containing official Music Together music, and now Siena just wants to listen to that all the time. “I want to hear music class music.”
She’s really good at singing the Crawdad Song, which goes,
You get a line, I’ll get a pole, honey.
You get a line, I’ll get a pole, babe.
You get a line, I’ll get a pole,
We’ll go down to that crawdad hole.
Honey, oh babe, of mine.
Or something close to that. Anyway, she’s pretty good at singing it in tune and time now. And there are a bunch of other songs, too. Like the “Boston song” (Goodbye mom I’m going to Boston), a hello song, a goodbye song, and many more besides. Hurry, act now!
