I just finished reading an Usborne-book Aesop’s Fables version of the Tortoise and the Hare to Thalia and Siena. After the race, a garden snail that had been cheering on the tortoise (spoiler alert: he wins) says, as the final words of the story, “See! Slow and steady wins the race.”
Siena waits a beat, and then says: “I think fast and steady would win the race, too.”
